How Spaced Repetition Works
The SM-2 algorithm schedules review times based on how well you recall each surah. When you mark a surah as reviewed:
- Successful recall — The interval until your next review increases
- Easy recall — Your ease factor increases, making future intervals longer
- Failed recall — The interval resets to 1 day
Consistent daily reviews build a strong memorization foundation. The algorithm optimizes your study time by focusing on surahs that need the most reinforcement.
