Prophet Becomes Ill
The Prophet ﷺ became ill after returning from Hajj. He led prayers from his house while Abu Bakr led the congregation.
Final Days
The Prophet ﷺ spent his final days in Aisha's room. He would ask each day: 'When is my turn with Aisha?'
Last Words
The Prophet's ﷺ last words were: 'Rather, the highest companion...' He chose to meet Allah rather than remain in this world.
Death of the Prophet
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ passed away on Monday, 12th Rabi' al-Awwal, 11 AH (June 8, 632 CE). He was 63 years old.
Umar's Shock
Umar stood in shock saying: 'The Prophet has not died!' Abu Bakr came and said: 'Whoever worshipped Muhammad, Muhammad is dead. Whoever worships Allah, Allah is Ever-Living.'
Burial
The Prophet ﷺ was buried in Aisha's room where he died. This is now part of Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah.
