Permission to Migrate
Allah gave permission for Muslims to migrate to Madinah. They left secretly in small groups.
Plot to Kill the Prophet
The Quraysh planned to kill the Prophet ﷺ by having one man from each tribe strike him. Allah informed him of the plot.
Leaving Makkah
The Prophet ﷺ left Makkah with Abu Bakr. He recited: 'And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier...' (36:9)
In Cave Thawr
The Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr hid in Cave Thawr for 3 days. A spider spun a web and a dove nested at the entrance, fooling the pursuers.
Suraqah's Pursuit
Suraqah pursued them for bounty. His horse's legs sank into sand. He asked for forgiveness and the Prophet ﷺ prayed for him.
Arrival at Quba
The Prophet ﷺ arrived at Quba, a village near Madinah. He built the first mosque of Islam - Masjid Quba.
Entry into Madinah
The Prophet ﷺ entered Madinah on a Friday. People welcomed him with 'Talala al-Badru Alayna' (the full moon rose upon us).
