Dream of Umrah
The Prophet ﷺ saw in a dream that he was performing Umrah. He announced they would go for Umrah, not war.
At Hudaybiyyah
The Quraysh prevented Muslims from entering Makkah. The Prophet ﷺ camped at Hudaybiyyah and negotiated.
Pledge of Ridwan
When rumors spread that Uthman was killed, the Prophet ﷺ took a pledge from 1400 Muslims under a tree. Allah was pleased with them.
Treaty Terms
The treaty included: 10-year truce, Muslims return this year, come next year for Umrah, anyone leaving Quraysh to Muslims is returned.
Apparent Defeat, Real Victory
Muslims were upset by the terms. Allah revealed: 'Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory' (48:1). This was the greatest victory.
