When the Quraysh rebuilt the Ka'bah, they disagreed on who should place the Black Stone. They chose the Prophet ﷺ as the arbitrator.

The Prophet ﷺ placed the Black Stone on a cloth and had each tribe leader hold a corner. He then placed it himself. This prevented bloodshed.
